Honoring Our Veterans
I would like to take this time to thank all of the Veterans who fought and those who are still fighting for our freedom.
I was able to attend the memorial that was held today at the Veterans Memorial Park in Blue Ridge. The many Fannin County Veterans where honored there following a parade that traveled along the Veterans Memorial Highway leading to park. Retired Army Lt. Col. George Pletcher was Master of Ceremonies, followed by the keynote speaker, good friend and fellow Rotarian Army Lt. Col. Jot Thomas.
The Fannin County High School Marching Band performed to near perfection during the parade and ceremonies. The Blue Ridge City Police department did a great job handling the traffic through town on such a usual busy Saturday this time of year. The North Georgia Color Guard posted the flags and carried the colors. It was good to have been there and to honor the men and women who have fought and those who have died to provide the very blanket of freedom that we all enjoy.

We Salute you for your Sacrifice.
We Salute you for your Service.
We Salute you for your Loyalty.
We Salute you for your Dedication.

Veterans Day is a Holiday to Honor all U.S. men and women who have served our country. We appreciate the sacrifices and contributions they have made and continue to make each and every day.
Let us not forget that EVERY day should serve as a day to honor these brave men and women.

Chad – Nice post to honor our veterans. We are having a ceremony at our veterans memorial tomorrow. I did post up the photos of the park today though. – Ashley
Hey Ashley,
Thanks for your kind comment. It was a good for me to reflect on the sacrifices that were made for you and me.
Please come back and visit me on the porch.

Chad,
Thanks for sharing Veteran’s Day in the Georgia Blue Ridge Mountains – the fall leaves make a beautiful back drop making me want to live there, especially this time of year. I loved the video – I felt like I was there. – Cyndee Haydon
Chad – What a wonderful tribute to our veterans; love the show! -Paula
Thanks Cyndee, I owe the video to you! I didn’t even notice the leaves because they were not near as pretty as they usually are. The drought has taken it’s toll on them this year!
Thanks so much for visiting on the Porch.
Chad
Hey Paula,
Thanks so much for your kind words. I really appreciate it.
Thank you too for visiting again. Come back soon!
Chad
Chad,
It is so nice to see people stop and appreciate what others do to protect us. I am so proud to be in business with you. Jeri
Hey Chad – Thanks for taking the time to honor the brave men and women who protect our freedom. The Veterans Memorial Park in Blue Ridge looks like an awesome memorial. Love the Taylor Weinman poem!
