Are You Seeing What I am Seeing?
Not Your Ordinary “Friday Night Lights”
Tonight is the BIG night, the BIG rivalry between Fannin County High School and Union County High School. Now the reason this isn’t ordinary is two-fold, and for once I can’t decide which side of the fence I am on.
The first reason it isn’t ordinary is because I was raised in Blue Ridge, which is the county seat of Fannin County. My wife and I have lived for fourteen years in Blairsville, which is the county seat of Union County. Blue Ridge and Blairsville are only 15 miles down the road from one another. I have worked primarily in Blue Ridge up until the last several months. With the Real Estate market shifting into a Buyer’s Market, I have begun a campaign to move more
heavily into the Blairsville market. Because of this we have also slowly begun to make our day to day activities here as well. We placed membership at the Blairsville Church of Christ almost a year ago in anticipation of our children beginning school here at the start of the 2007 school year. So to make a long story short, life as we know it is now in Blairsville. So I am forced to choose from the ol’ Blue and Gray of the Fannin County Rebels, or the not so favorable Purple and Gold colors of the Union County Panthers.
This made my decision pretty easy since I don’t wear purple!
Oh by the way, Fannin County Rebels won 45–19. GO REBELS!
The second reason is quite simple… A picture is worth a thousand words! Just how many of you have had the good pleasure of looking out to see a mountain view like this while attending a local High School Football game?
